Life story
A Huguenot Cutler in London
Henry Fulwater emigrated from Germany to England around 1566, part of a wave of Protestant refugees, and settled in London, where he trained as a cutler and became a permanent denizen of the city in 1571. Over the following decades he took on a succession of apprentices from across England and Wales, and was a member of London's French Protestant church by 1583. Henry died in London and was buried at St. Anne, Blackfriars, on September 21, 1603.
