Thomas Dibble

Born Abt. March 20, 1634: Thomas and his sister Francis were preparing to depart for New England from Weymouth, England aboard the Marygould. He married June 25, 1683 and worked as husbandman. He died October 17, 1700.

A Dorchester Husbandman

Thomas Dibble, son of the bailiff Robert Dibble, prepared to sail for New England with his sister Frances in March 1634 aboard the ship Marygould, settling in Dorchester, Massachusetts, where the town granted him land beside his father's house in 1635 on condition he build on it within a year. Thomas later moved to Windsor, Connecticut, belonging to the church in both towns, and in 1676 contributed to Connecticut's relief fund for colonists displaced by King Philip's War in neighboring colonies. He married late in life, in June 1683, and died October 17, 1700.
