Life story
A Simsbury Juror
William Hayes was born June 13, 1697, in Windsor, Connecticut, son of George Hayes, and received a seventy-five-acre land grant from the town of Simsbury in 1723. He served as tithingman in 1742 and as grand juror in 1748 and 1754. William inherited a sixth of his father's estate under George's 1725 will.
