Life story
A Providence Landholder
Alexander Balcom settled in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, by 1664 and later purchased land called Wesquodomsett north of Providence in 1686, receiving a further fifty-acre grant near Rehoboth, Massachusetts, in 1691. He died around 1711; his estate was appraised at just over 35 pounds.
