Life story
A Disowned Son
John Brown was born in 1628 and settled in Reading, Massachusetts, marrying twice, in 1659 and again in 1681. In his May 1709 will, John left his own son John just five shillings, describing him as “a stubborn, disobedient, and rebellious son.” John died July 27, 1714.
