Life story
A Thaxted Carpenter's Will
John Lummys worked as a farmer and, by 1566, a carpenter in Thaxted, Essex, England. In his will, written February 19, 1566, he left his wife Kyrstyne his home and garden for her lifetime, after which it was to be sold and divided among their children, along with instructions that she distribute a small cash sum to each child from the estate. John died around 1567.
