Living at Harris City. Daughter Margaret was born in 1892 and twins Leo and Ludwig in 1895. Died of typhoid in 1895.

Life story
An Indiana Girlhood
Barbara Ann Hahn was born on August 24, 1856, in Kelso Township, Dearborn County, Indiana, the daughter of John Hahn and Elizabeth Weber, both immigrants from Bavaria; her mother came from Landstuhl. She grew up in a family of eight children: Lana, Adam, John, Kate, Joseph, Mary Elizabeth, and Josephine. By 1870 the Hahns had moved to Marion Township, Decatur County, near Greensburg, where Barbara lived until her marriage.
On September 12, 1880, at Oldenburg, she married George E. Amrhein, a young man from another German Catholic family who was then working in a tile yard with his brothers. Their families were already joined: her sister Kate had married George's brother Wendel in 1875. By 1882 Barbara and George were living north of Greensburg.
A Short Life
Barbara's children came over the next thirteen years: Olivia (Ollie) in 1882, Adam Lawrence (Lora) in 1883, Anthony (Tony) in 1888, John in 1890, Margaret (Ben's great-grandmother) in 1892, and twins, Leo and Ludwig, on April 30, 1895. By then George was a stonemason and the family was living at Harris City in Sandcreek Township; in December 1891 nearly all of them had been down with fever.
In 1895 Barbara died of typhoid in Marion Township, in her late thirties. Little Ludwig lived only ten days. She was buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greensburg. Her children grew up close to their Hahn relatives: in 1901 George took Maggie and Ollie to visit Barbara's sister Lana, and the whole family came to Greensburg in 1903 and 1905 for reunions celebrating Barbara's mother's eightieth and eighty-first birthdays. Her daughter Ollie lived to 101, and Margaret to 96.
