Barbara Ann Hahn was born on August 24, 1856, in Kelso Township, Dearborn County, Indiana, the daughter of John Hahn and Elizabeth Weber, both children of Bavarian immigrants. She grew up in Decatur County and married George E. Amrhein in Oldenburg, Indiana, on September 12, 1880. Barbara died in 1895.
