Thomas Judd

Born Abt in Northampton, Massachusetts. 1634. He married December 12, 1679, in Northampton, Massachusetts and worked as deacon. He died November 12, 1688, in Northampton, Massachusetts.

From Cambridge to Farmington

Thomas Judd was born around 1608 and emigrated to Cambridge, Massachusetts, by 1634, where he was granted land and made a freeman before moving on to Hartford, Connecticut, around 1636 and then to Farmington around 1646. He served for three decades, from 1647 to 1677, as Farmington's deputy to the Connecticut General Court, sat on both petit and grand juries, and was ordained a deacon in 1672. In 1662 the colony granted him and a partner four hundred acres including substantial meadowland, and Thomas steadily traded and distributed parcels of land across Hartford and Farmington for the rest of his life, deeding much of his Farmington property to his son William in 1679 before moving to Northampton, Massachusetts, where he died on November 12, 1688.
