Life story
A Vermont-to-Ohio Family
Rhoda Slaughter was born May 23, 1778, in Guilford, Vermont, daughter of John Slater and Lois Carpenter, and married Alanson Hayes there in August 1801. The family later moved to Marion, Allen County, Ohio. Rhoda died February 14, 1862.
