Life story
A Sister's Inheritance
Hannah Welles, daughter of Noah Welles, married Isaac Jones in Colchester, Connecticut, in July 1717. When her father died in 1712, Hannah inherited a substantial share of household goods and farm tools along with cash from the sale of family land, and two years later she and her brother Jonathan chose their brother Noah as their legal guardian. She moved with her husband to Bolton, Connecticut, transferring her church membership there in 1743.
