Abel Phelps was born May 22, 1730, in Turkey Hills, Simsbury, Connecticut, son of Joseph Phelps, and married in Simsbury in April 1752. He was confirmed at the Reverend Viets's church in Granby, Connecticut, in December 1764, and settled there. Abel died in Granby in 1804.
