Life story
A Stratford Landholder
Mary Harvey was baptized June 5, 1605, in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, England, and married there in January 1632. She emigrated to America in 1635 aboard the ship Planter with her husband, daughter, and two sons, settling eventually in Stratford, Connecticut, where she is recorded, likely as a widow, acquiring numerous small parcels of meadow, woodland, and swampland in her own name through the 1670s and into 1681, including a joint purchase with her son Daniel.
