Life story

A Long Widowhood

Elisabeth Shoemaker was born on June 26, 1792, in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John Shoemaker and Mary Ann Baker, and married John Townsend on April 11, 1811. After his death she continued to live in Washington Township, eventually moving into the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and James Walker. Elizabeth died on September 15, 1870.
