Ephraim Darby

Born March 6, 1733, in Scotch Plains, Union County, New Jersey. He married November 8, 1756, at the Luteran Church in Kisketamesy, Greene County, New York and worked as retired from military service. He died May 28, 1795, in Kisketamesy, Greene County, New York.

A Continental Line Officer

Ephraim Darby was born March 6, 1733, in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, and served through most of the Revolutionary War in the New Jersey Continental Line, enlisting as a private around 1776 and rising to quartermaster in 1777 and then lieutenant, eventually serving as a brevet captain before retiring from service in September 1782. In 1791 he petitioned for over 600 acres of land in Cairo Township, Greene County, New York, alongside his son Samuel. Ephraim died May 28, 1795, in Kisketamesy (Coxsackie), Greene County, New York.
