Life story

From Ireland to Philadelphia

Mary McCormick was born around 1871–1878 in Ireland, the daughter of Peter McCormick and a mother recorded only as Callahan, and emigrated to the United States around 1884–1885. She worked as a dressmaker in Philadelphia and married Peter Paul Bedesem there on June 15, 1898, raising their family through a series of Philadelphia and Germantown homes. Mary died at Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, on June 30, 1932.
