Martin Gansmer, son of the ferryman Hans Gerendt von Hausen, followed his father's trade as a ferryman and also worked as a farm manager in Taben, in the Electorate of Trier (now Germany). He married Elisabeth Boes there in February 1708 and died in Taben on April 26, 1754.
