Life story

An Amsterdam Property Sale

Hendrickjen Barenszen Otsen, daughter of the Amsterdam printer Barent Otsen, was born around 1610–1611 and married Tomys Swartwout at Amsterdam's Nieuwe Kerk in June 1631. In 1648 she sold her share of a house on the Sint Pietersdwarsstraat for 318 florins. She departed Amsterdam for New Netherland with her husband in March 1652.
