Life story
From County Wicklow to Portland
Anna Murphy was born around 1851–1860 in County Wicklow, Ireland, and emigrated to the United States in 1865, eventually making her way to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a servant for a wealthy family and lived alongside her siblings Mary, Thomas, and James. She married Cornelius Madigan and raised their family on Flanders Street in Portland. Anna died on May 30, 1901.
